Angelique Loves Quentin

(Or at least wants him.)

I’d been meaning to share this snippet from episode 794 for some weeks now. It shows a great sign of Angelique making a change in her personality.

There is some information Barnabas brings to her attention to which she is clearly trying to figure out how she can re-establish her hold on Quentin.

For Barnabas her understanding was just manipulating a ton of people in his household in the 1790’s, whereas with Quentin it’s a matter of maintaining something he, Quentin, personally needs. So she doesn’t wish to give away what she knows or has. (Still! That’s different in her understanding of how love works. Little by little!)

Angelique has bargained Quentin into marrying her. When Barnabas realises this he tells her,

“You’re doing this to spite me…”

Which, yes, Barnabas has every right to feel. He’s already been down similar roads with her via his family in the time of his original birth and life, as well as her Cassandra role in the 1960’s earlier according to their chronology. Barnabas has absolutely no reason to trust Angelique.

But then? Angelique confesses,

“I’m doing it because I’m BORED! With you, with the future and the past and the present. I’ve bided my time. I’ve waited and waited, I’m sick of waiting!”

(Yeh, I hear that!)

“Life, even for people like us, Barnabas, was meant to be lived. I intend to start living it and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”

It is at this point I say:

ATTA GIRL!

That’s the Angelique I expected when we got through all her damn tantrums and manipulations as a clueless villain!

Go for Quentin, girlfriend.

For you?

He’s perfect!

Throwing Out Ideas – 2020 October

Expressing my new re-watchable movie, “The Social Dilemma”, then onward to my expeditious viewing of ‘Dark Shadows-1897‘ along with the focus of sorting out the romance between Quentin Collins and Angelique Bouchard. (As well as rearranging Laura Collins to be Laura Murdoch Stockbridge via Osheen Nevoy’s research.) And how ‘1840 Angelique’ = “Angelique-Mark-2”. Then mixing the magics between Dark Shadows and Bewitched.

Rough draft ideas and potential spoilers for episode 23 and 24 in ‘The Pit of Ultimate Dark Shadows’. How Capt. Gregg digests the ghosts of Beth and Quentin and the overall situation on account of the bequest with Sam and Maggie Evans.

Catching up with Willie and Wadsworth: Paying Willie back and getting his trousers which helps Barnabas Collins meet with Amy Jennings. These trousers shan’t rip, though, as was once suggested of Willie’s pants in “DS Annotations” 😉

Then we have a lengthy scene idea for a Pit episode in the far-flung future aligning Dr. Julia Hoffman (née Magda Rakosi, née Countess duPres) with The Ghost of Caleb Collins. Again; Just throwing out ideas via inspiration of the bonus episode on “The Haunted of Collinwood” DVD, along with my current 1897 viewing.

I wind up this podcast with how the big romances among ‘Dark Shadows’ fans occurred via the on-screen stories, and what the fans took from them, over the decades. I hope it helps to enlighten many listeners. (Josette duPres, her reincarnations, Angelique Bouchard, and Dr. Hoffman with Barnabas Collins factor in heavily to this segment.)

Lastly: Encouragement to watch “The Social Dilemma” documentary. More information can be found at:

Angelique + Quentin

I have set my more current sights on this pairing.

WHY?

Because it’s kickin’

Think about it.

You get to 1897 and of course Quentin is wondering about Angelique as he wonders about all women.

The thing is with this one is that…

She returns the interest!

And throughout the madhouse that is 1897?

Who does Angelique request help from in gaining Quentin Collins love?

Who could Angelique possibly want to help her in this escapade to win Quentin towards her matrimonially?

The last person you would expect Angeilque to request this help from..

YEP!

Barnabas Collins.

That’s what showed me:

This IS the answer.

So I am aiming my sights on episodes in the mid 700’s to 882 right now.

What Quentin decides to do in the interim before reconfirming his interest in Angelique by the 1960’s?

I’m not sure.

All I know is that there is both a mutual attraction and chemistry.

The other thing I know is the amount of their previous lovers are a bit, well, uncountable.

The experience these two share makes them quite compatible!

I am looking forward to the challenge!

So…

Off I go to 1897!

Cheers!
